HIV Aktivizminde Söz Hakkı Kimin?*

HIV alanında verilen insan hakları mücadelesini özneleri yani HIV ile yaşayanların deneyimlerini merkeze alarak nasıl yürütebiliriz sorusuna cevaplar arayacağımız panelde HIV aktivizminin dününü, bugününü ve geleceğini konuşacak ve tartışacağız.

Türkiye’de hızla büyümekte olan HIV epidemisinin sosyo-politik boyutlarını incelediği bir doktora tezi yazmakta olan Tankut Atuk, Act-Up’tan günümüze Amerika’daki HIV aktivizminin dönüşümünü anlatacak. Sağlık hizmetleri araştırması üzerine sağlık bilimi yüksek lisansı yapmakta olan Oğuzhan ise “Sağlıkta HIV ile yaşayanlar olarak ne kadar söz hakkına sahibiz?” sorusundan yola çıkarak bir konuşma yapacak.

Panel sonunda ise HIV aktivizminin geleceğini tartışmaya herkesi davet ediyoruz.

Who has a say in HIV activism?

In this panel, we will be seeking answers to the question of how we can carry out the human rights struggle in the field of HIV by focusing on the subjects, that is, the experiences of those living with HIV, and discussing the past, the present and the future of HIV activism. Tankut Atuk, who is writing a doctoral thesis examining the socio-political dimensions of the rapidly growing HIV epidemic in Turkey, will explain the transformation of HIV activism in America from the Act-Up to the present. Oğuzhan Nuh, who is currently studying for a health sciences masters on health services research, will make a speech based on the question of “How much of a voice do we have as those living with HIV in health policies?”.

At the end of the panel, we invite everyone to discuss the future of HIV activism.
