Voltrans; biyolojik olarak kadın olan ama kendini kadın olarak tanımlamayan, dönüşüm sürecine girmiş/girmemiş, girmeyi düşünen/düşünmeyen, toplumsal cinsiyet kimliği geçişinde olan, veya cinsiyet kimliğini şu anda sadece sorgulayan herkese açık bir gruptur. Yaklaşık bir yıldır Trans erkek inisiyatifi olarak bir arada çalışmaktayız.

Cinsiyet geçişi ve beden atölyesinde bu güne kadar lambda etkinlikleri çerçevesince düzenlenen cinsiyet geçişi isimli toplantılarımızda tartışılan konular paylaşılacaktır.

Toplumsal cinsiyet kimliği, cinsel kimlik, biyolojik cinsiyet nedir? 

Sizi “kadın” veya “erkek” yapan o “şeye” sahip olduğunuzu düşünüyor musunuz? O “şey” nedir?

Bedenlerimiz cinsel kimliklerimizle ne kadar alakalı? 

Beden ve davranışların cinsiyeti var mı yoksa biz mi yarattık? 

Beden mi kişiye cinsiyet verir kişi mi bedene? 

Toplumsal cinsiyet geçiş (transgender) hareketinin kapsadığı bazı kimlikler:

– Travestiler
– Drag king/ drag queen
– Transseksüel
–  İnterseksüel
– Trannyoğlan
– Androjen
– Genderqueer
– Butch

Kendimizi bütün bu tanımların içinde bulamamak ya da hepsinin içinde olmak.

The Voltrans group is open to everyone, from biological women who do not identify themselves as women, who may or may not be in the process of transforming their bodies, to those who may or may not wish to commence this transformation process, whose gender identities are in transition, or who question their gender identities. The group has been working for almost a year as a collective of transsexual men. 
In the Transgender and the Body Workshop, issues that were put forth so far inTransgender meetings that were held in Lambda will be shared briefly, and the discussion will be recommenced with the attendees. These biweekly meetings we held in the Lambdaistanbul office focused on the individual defining his desires without fear of being otherized; pondering on these definitions and conversing about them; to call sexual identities and the body’s sex into question, and acknowledge the discrepancies between the two; and to gain visibility for our individual genders in accordance with our personal feelings. 
 What are gender identity, sexual identity, and biological sex? 
 Do you think you have that “thing” which makes you a “man” or a “woman?” 
 How relevant is our bodies to our sexual identities? 
 Are the body and behavior gendered or did we produce it? 
 Does the body define the individual’s gender, or vice versa?

– Butch 

Not finding ourselves in any of these definitions, or belonging to every one of them. 
LET’S NOT LET OUR SEXUAL IDENTITY BE DEFINED BY THE SOCIETY, NOR BY THE BODY. LET’S DEFINE OUR GENDER OURSELVES.
